Research Center – (c) Daici Ano

Kengo Kuma is one of Japan’s most inventive architects. The essence of his work is using the Japanese constructive tradition as the basis for a contemporary and innovative design. His remarkable use of the diaphanous space, of natural light, of organic elements, and of handcrafted techniques give his buildings a very strong personality and a feeling of involvement and presence that one usually will not forget. The architect responsible for the JAPAN HOUSE SÃO PAULO building, he also signs, among numerous grandiose projects around the world, the creation of the new Tokyo Olympic stadium, for 2020, and the important Tokyo Nezu museum, which is dedicated to pre-modern Japanese art.
